Edwin + Liz | Intimate Wedding | Oahu Wedding Photographer

I want to chat about something for a moment. It seems lately it can be so easy to get caught up in the process of wedding planning and things can really get out of control. Maybe it’s letting outside voices have too much say in what your wedding day will be like until it no longer reflects you, but rather your relatives’ tastes and ideas. Perhaps it’s the growing costs, the details exploding like Pinterest got drunk and spewed mason jars and roses all over the place. Or maybe you feel pressure to compete with all of these epic backdrops floating around these days. And don’t get me wrong, I love far away mountains and misty wind just as much as the next adventurous wedding photographer. BUT, let me get real.

There’s something to be said for keeping it simple. To have an intimate wedding with those you cherish most, to allow your heart to speak into your day. You can cut things you don’t really want, scrap tradition, and build a day that is completely you. In fact, I highly recommend you showcase your love at your wedding in a way that’s completely true to how you are. If that’s epic mountains and hiking with just your love and your photographer while the wind blows through your flowy dress, DO IT. Elope! If that’s a laidback day close to home with your closest friends and family, remember that emotions are just as beautiful – actually more beautiful – than mountains. And that’s what I feel when I look at Edwin + Liz’s day. They planned a sweet, intimate wedding that is filled with pure joy and so much love. These moments focus so much on the heart and prove that there is beauty wherever you are together with your love.
